The advertisement for the Fall Family Festival, hosted by Ride With Pride, utilizes a fall-themed Mondrian layout in Shenandoah Living magazine, positioned on the right-hand side. The headline style is repetition, specifically alliteration because each word starts with the letter “f.” The subhead “Halloween Horses Uplifting Spirits” is a pun, a phrase with two meanings, referring to Halloween ghosts and Ride with Pride’s mission of empowerment and healing. This design captures the lively atmosphere of the event and the meaningful cause it supports. It is visually appealing and reflects the excitement of the festival while embodying the inclusive spirit of Ride With Pride.
At the top, a colorful image showcases Halloween themes and integrates elements related to horses, effectively linking the festival to its host. The color palette of gray, white, black, and orange reinforces the Halloween aesthetic, creating a festive tone. The typography enhances this playful feel while being visually welcoming: League Spartan is used in the headline and subheads, while Open Sans provides a clear and inviting contrast for the smaller text.
To engage attendees the advertisement features a removable raffle ticket cutout to engage attendees, emphasizing that proceeds directly benefit Ride With Pride. This interactive element adds visual interest and encourages viewers to participate in the event. Additionally, the section detailing activities also highlights fun offerings for young children, such as pumpkin painting and hayrides, enticing families to join in. The concise call to action—“Join us for two days of fall fun”—targets mothers and their families, resonating with their desire for enjoyable experiences. A brief blurb about Ride With Pride in the bottom left corner informs viewers about the organization and its mission, reinforcing the significance of their participation.

This out-of-home advertisement for the Ride with Pride Fall Family Festival employs a poster style, as it contains a large, dominant image of a horse with a smaller copy surrounding it. The focal point is the image itself, displaying a horse with a sheet on it, dressed as a ghost, holding a Halloween basket in its mouth. This image perfectly reflects Ride with Pride’s playful, festive tone and quickly captures viewers’ attention.
The headline of this ad displays repetition, specifically alliteration, with each word starting with the letter “F,” making the advertisement more memorable. The horse overlaps on top of the headline with its ears slightly on top of the letters in “festival”, to make it seem as though the advertisement is three dimensional. The subhead “Halloween Horses Uplifting Spirits!” includes a pun with the phrase “uplifting spirits.” The dual meaning refers to the uplifted quality of a ghost and Ride with Pride’s mission to raise spirits in the community. Alliteration is also used in the subheading through the letter “H” in “Halloween Horses.”The Glacial Indifference font was used in white throughout this ad to display consistency and contrast against the dark background. The headline was bold in order to draw attention to the main idea of the poster.
Under the subhead, there is a body copy explaining what the event is and the cause that it is supporting. The lines used to subhead and body copy separates the slogan, the main idea of the event, and what the event is supporting . Additionally, the lines make the reader more likely to read the copy as it does not appear as though it is an overwhelming amount of information grouped into one paragraph.
The bottom of the ad contains a QR code viewers can scan to access more details about the event and have the option to donate. The QR code directs viewers to the company website, so viewers can connect directly with the organization. The address is also included at the bottom of the poster as a mandatory to show viewers where the event will take place. The logo is included in the bottom right to display cohesiveness and allow viewers to recognize the brand.
